Build completed! THANK YOU to everyone who donated, volunteered and prayed for our recent Habitat build. The dedication was Saturday, December 3. We will post pictures as soon as we get them!

We are stillcollecting donations towards our $15,000 goal (to buy supplies) for the build. There are 2 simple ways to donate.

You can simply place a check in the offering plate made out to Tucker First UMC. Be sure to put "Habitat Project" on the memo line.

Important: On the second page, check the box for “I wish to contribute to the house being built by the following sponsor group” then enter Tucker First United Methodist Church. Please note: Your receipt will not indicate that your donation is going to our house but it does get directed correctly.

Donation update: We have great news! We have collected about $5,000 dollars for the Habitat project thus far. If you have been out of town or absent from Sunday mornings for any reason, you can still donate.

Construction began October 15 and continues on Saturdays through December 13 (except the Saturday after Thanksgiving).

Go to the volunteer website
Click the Register button, enter a username and password
Enter the join code TFUMC, click Next
Input your contact information

At this point, you have just created an account. Now you are ready to sign up!

Find the date and volunteer opportunity you want
- Pick Tucker First UMC Build if you want to help build
- Pick Tucker First UMC LUNCH if you want to sign your group up to provide lunch (see lunch details below)
Click the sign up button under the upcoming event
Sign out

You will receive a confirmation email message from Habitat.

Lunch details: Please prepare a meal for 40 volunteers. Include foods such as sandwiches, fruit, chips, yogurt, veggies (carrots, celery) with dip, trail mix or other finger food, cookies, drinks. Soup is great on cold days! Please be sure to include a vegetarian option. Finally, please plan to deliver the meal at noon.

The latest volunteer update from our build contacts:

Update 11/8/11: Thank you to everyone who has volunteered for, prayed for and given to our Habitat build so far. Keep up the good work! Here are our current volunteer build needs/opportunities:

• November 12 - 5 volunteer slots left
• November 19 - 7 volunteer slots left
• December 3 - 8 volunteer slots left

Breakfast and refreshments are covered for 11/12 and 11/19.

Update 11/2/11: We have met our financial responsibilities for our 2011 Habitat House! Thank you to everyone who contributed.

We have eleven build site volunteers signed up for this Saturday. Thank you! However, we still need more build site volunteers for the other Saturdays that Tucker First is committed to providing volunteers.

November 12 – ten volunteers needed
November 19 – eleven volunteers needed
December 3 – ten volunteers needed

Can your Sunday School class provide breakfast or help pack water and Powerade?

Refreshment crews are needed to prepare water and Powerade on November 12 and 19.
Breakfast and refreshments are needed on November 12.

Update 10/23/11: Volunteer registration for the Tucker First Habitat for Humanity build is in full swing. We still need to fill four build volunteer slots for October 29. More slots are open in November. See the full list of volunteer opportunities. Pray for our volunteers and the family whose home we are helping build. Questions? Update 10/9/11: We still need 6 volunteers for the 10/22. Other specific volunteer opportunities we still need filled:

Builders – 10/29 (8), 11/5 (5), 11/12 (11), 11/19 (11), 12/3 (10)
Photographer – all weeks
Breakfast – 11/5 and 11/19 (call and arrange with Starbucks to pick up free coffee for 40 and day old scones and drop at church at 7am.

Update 9/25/11: More opportunities to help with Habitat

Please provide soda, water and Gatorade for 40 volunteers on the following Saturdays 10/15, 11/5, or 11/19. (The coolers are in the Wesley Center. Please fill two coolers with water, one of these with PowerAde, then both with ice, 2 liter sodas are fine for sodas). Coolers and sodas need to be prepared at 7am and ready to load no later than 7:20

We have 2 lunches still available on 11/5 and 11/19. We are also providing breakfast on these days (2 other volunteer opportunities) and this includes: Please prepare muffins or other light breakfast item and coffee or juice for 30 volunteers. Please bring to the church at 7:10am or contact Kay Entrekin for other arrangements at kayjohne@gmail.com. Starbucks will give you free coffee and one day old (still very delicious) scones if you tell them it is for TFUMC for habitat. Call them ahead of time to arrange.

We have our full complement of volunteers for 10/15.

We have plenty of slots available for the next Saturday 10/22.

PRAY

We know nothing is possible without the grace and presence of God. You can contribute to the upcoming Atlanta Habitat project simply through prayer. Here are some particular areas in which we could use God's blessings:

to meet our donation goal of $15,000.
for the safety of our construction crews
for a timely completion of the project
that we may increase others' love of God through service
for everyone to have fun and fellowship
